Feed the Hungry

It's Wednesday again, which mean harvest!! I have posted pictures of all of the produce we pick on Wednesday's before but now I am going to tell you a little bit more about what goes on with them!

We start the morning out by harvesting produce from 4 different gardens that we have.

the cottage garden (Lem's Garden)

the middle garden (Gabby's Garden)

the lower garden (Bree's Garden)

After we harvest from all 4 gardens we put it together in these baskets making it look all aesthetic.

This is what a typical week looks like after harvest.

Then one of us gets to go to the Catholic Church in town to help them wash, and cut the greens for Feed The Hungry. Feed the Hungry is a soup kitchen that anyone is able to come and get breakfast or lunch from Monday - Friday. They are able to shower, and get clean clothes there. Today it was my turn to help the ladies cut the greens!

Meet the ladies that cook, clean and serve at Feed the Hungry.

Joyce, Barbara, Sandra, Mary

Ms. Mary, Margaret, Laura, Annette

the wonderful food Ms. Annette made for lunch today

this is where all of the magic happens

These are a wonderful group of ladies and I am so happy that we have such a good relationship with them. The food that Ms. Annette cooks is amazing and I can't wait to be back on Wednesday to chop more greens!
